Research Group "Vocational Education with a Focus on Structures of VET Systems"
The research places a primary focus on structural issues within vocational education and training (VET), covering both regulatory and didactic aspects. Key areas include analyzing and enhancing the VET system, curricular frameworks, initial and ongoing training for VET personnel, and the examination system. Special attention is given to conducting a systematic analysis of VET systems in other European and non-European countries to support international comparisons.
The research group was newly established in 2017 as part of a foundation by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce. Dr. Dietmar Frommberger was appointed in 2017 and has served as a full professor since then. It was financially supported by the endowing organisation over a period of five years.
